Last year we were very pleased to be able to tell you that Toiletries Amnesty has been announced as a Finalist in the National Hair & Beauty Awards 2020! Then covid-19 hit and the awards were postponed.
With restrictions set to ease, the awards have been rescheduled for Thursday 8th July 2021.
We’re in the Entrepreneur of the Year category, alongside some great businesses, and although the winners won’t be announced until the summertime, we’re very happily celebrating the recognition as finalists.
A recent survey showed that Toiletries Amnesty helped get toiletries to over 250,000 people in 2019. To date we’ve provided help to over a million people across the UK and beyond, whilst diverting thousands of tonnes of toiletries waste from landfill.
In 2020 the demand on our services has increased drastically, with the directory growing by more than 50% and we’re working very hard to meet that demand. We work with homeless shelters and hostels, women and children’s refuges, mental health services, children and families centres, food banks, refugee support groups, NHS Trust services, schools and colleges, prison services, community groups, and other organisations who need our support.
So far in 2021 we have helped to match over 58,000 donated items to many of the organisations in the directory.
