| What we do | YMCA Wirral provides a homeless hostel for men and women aged 21 and upwards in Birkenhead. We have 56 bed spaces in the hostel. Whist staying in the hostel, clients receive support to enable them to move on in their lives an start the journey towards living independently in the community. In addition to the hostel, we provide a triage service to anyone in need of a safe place to stay for the night. |
| What we accept |
YMCA Wirral`s emergency night shelter is open every night of the year. We receive no government or statutory funding to provide this service and rely completely on donations and grants.
We receive a large number of referrals every night and we are always particularly grateful for the following items: Shower Gel, Razors, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste and Deodorants.
The Shelter also uses a large number of towels- Many of which are unable to be reused due to health and hygiene reasons. So are always very grateful for these too !!
