What we do | Care at Wakefield Hospice is about living. It’s about adding life to days when days cannot be added to life. It is making every moment count and creating lasting memories. It transforms lives. At Wakefield Hospice we acknowledge the value of life and the importance of dignity in death, promoting quality of life for patients by providing the highest quality palliative and end of life care and bereavement support to their family. We do this through.... ** providing high quality end of life care, giving equal consideration to the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of patients, their families and carers, ** offering care that is free of charge to patients who have been assessed as in need of specialist palliative care. acknowledges the uniqueness of every patients fundamental approach to life and death, ** maintaining every patients right to privacy and dignity, ** respecting diversity and each individual's religious, cultural and belief system, and ** meeting the needs of bereaved individuals in the provision of a range of bereavement services. |
What we accept |
Un-perfumed/unscented preferred where possible.
Quite often patients may arrive without a wash bag or with items missing from their bag. Being able to provide these items gives the patient and their family one less thing to worry about at such a difficult time.
For infection control reasons, certain items cannot be used by another patient once it has been used so we need a steady supply to continue offering this standard of care.
