What we do | The Sapphire Well Being Academy The Academy is broken down into: - Mentoring and Counselling - Food Donations Service - Housing and Support - Funding, Bursaries and Grants Support - Fitness and Nutrition One in six children aged 5 to 16 years were identified as having a probable mental disorder. Life can be tough. And young people encounter a variety of daily challenges that have the potential to impact their wellbeing - from balancing education and a social life, to anxiety about the future, finding their first job, pressures from social media and so much more... Sapphire Mentoring and Counselling Support Programme Helping those who are struggling with mental health issues during and post the Covid-19 lockdown and post covid-19 Anyone where any vulnerable person in need of support can call in or a talk or get advice. This will run everyday. There will be trained staff from areas one education, abuse, addiction, mental health support, career advice, money management and more. Available any time of day or night for a listening ear; it doesn’t have to be a crisis. We have trained advisors that are here to listen, support and help at any time. Through calling our help line, young people can access free face-to-face or telephone counselling, or online Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Anxiety and fears are on the rise for the residents in London as they do not know their future especially that of young people. At Sapphire, we aim to use this project to show these young people how to use their fears as a fuel for strength and power. The grant will provide more online resources and training for our youth workers who will be running zoom workshops. We also will be running a support counselling line 7 days a week for those who are in need or need someone to speak to. |
