|What we do||We provide free accommodation to families whose critically ill child is being treated at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. Families come from across the whole of Scotland and can often arrive under emergency conditions. We provide a 'home from home' and would welcome any toiletries. We are a short walk from the hospital, have 30 rooms and support over 550 families every year from Shetland to Dumfries and beyond. We run at 95% - 100% capacity and the average stay is 27 days but many families end up here for much longer. We are an independent Scottish Charity and have been running this service for over twenty years, originally based in Yorkhill prior to the children's hospital move to Govan in 2015.|
|What we accept||
Families can arrive under emergency conditions and end up staying for weeks or months. They often have very little with them and, understandably, want to remain close to their child at all times. Therefore, providing them with toiletries when they first arrive really helps them - it's just one less thing to worry about.
All our rooms are en-suite with showers, so shower products and daily use items such as face wash, toothpaste, toothbrushes, soap and shower gel would be wonderful. Also, any unopened facial or body moisturisers.
Thank you so much for your support!
