What we do | Firstly, GCOGIC-IM is the acronym for, GLORIOUS CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST-INTERNATIONAL MINISTRIES. We began as a church, but we've noticed that during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, where we had to discontinue in-person congregation and transition to online ministry, that we were able to reach more people and expand across the globe, where we were starting internationally in Pakistan providing much needed textbooks and the like. In the U.S., during this time, we also found out while providing meals and clothing, that many families and individuals were experiencing food insecurity well before COVID-19, but there weren't as much statistics which looked into this somewhat "hidden" variable as well as the outliers that contributed to such insecurity. Fast-forward, through research and partnering with our local police departments and public security organizations, we were able to see how we could better serve and benefit communities that experienced greater disparities, and thus we've proposed and implemented some pretty nifty programs; for example, our "The Good Fight" program focuses on providing services to victims of crime, ranging from domestic violence and human trafficking, to victims of hate crimes and cyber threats. Another program that I'm happy about is, "The Good Race: Transition From Homeless to Home" initiative. You wouldn't think there were so many homeless individuals and families in the U.S., but it is! So, GCOGIC-IM strives to provide the necessities for these individuals and families and have our sights on the end-goal for these participants to achieve self-sufficiency, thus security. So, as you can see from this "brief introduction" if you will, that GCOGIC-IM is not only "spiritually-focused", but "in-service focused", serving everyone through inclusivity and unconditional love. |
