What we do | FFU Scotland CIC are Scotland's national non profit for fibromyalgia. We provide education, support and advocacy to anyone living with fibromyalgia in Scotland and their care support. We are currently rebranding and restructuring with the launch happening mid 2021 as well as developing the first community based pathway centre for Fibromyalgia in Scotland. We have been providing poverty outreach work also since 2020 due to the pandemic and the needs within our fibromyalgia community. Social needs are rising and many have had to access our outreach work. During initial lockdown we providing hygiene packages to 289 adults and children over 26 local authority areas in a 3 week period and again within our Christmas hamper campaign where we provided food, toys, hygiene, baby items, sanitary and incontinence products across 20 local authorities to 177 adults and children. We also provide at Christmas , compassion hampers to those that have faced further trauma, isolation and reduced mental health . These are well received and reports to us that this made such a difference knowing they were not alone as well as receiving items to pamper themselves with. Our Poverty outreach work will continue during the year from our centre base, where we will provide a weekly fibro foodbank, hygiene, period and incontinence products to those in need when visiting the centre thus reducing the barriers often felt accessing varied services and or through enquiries remotely. |
