Our Scottish directory members need your help and donations.
Recently, we reached out to all our directory members to see how their registration on the directory was going, and if their needs were being met by the initiative. We had a lot of feedback from the Scottish members of the directory to say that they had not received as many donations as they had hoped to since registering, and that due to Covid-19 their need had increased further.
In March, TFN Scotland reported that the Edinburgh Food Project, part of the Trussell Trust, had to remove donation points in some Edinburgh supermarkets as the donations were being stolen by supermarket panic buyers.
After Monday’s announcement by the government of the new 3 tier lockdown system, Covid-19 cases rising on a daily basis and the winter flu season, it is becoming more likely that lock down restrictions are set to increase. With this the inevitable panic buying and stock piling by the general public will occur again.
We currently have 9 locations listed in the directory for Scotland. The groups include food banks, community groups and charities;
The Kings Communities Church
Forth Valley Community Focus
Ronald McDonald House Glasgow
Fuse Youth Café
Community Focus Scotland CIC
Crookston Community Group
The Larder @ Bridge of Allan
Ladies of Rock
