What we do | Emmaus Salford is a charity that supports people who have experienced homelessness. Our work is centered around a residential community, where people who have experienced homelessness come to make it their home for as long as they need it to be. people who join our community, known as companions, commit to working to the best of thier ability in our social enterprises and with running the community itself. Their daily work is an important part of the Emmaus ethos because it gives people a focus each day, an opportunity for personal development and allows companions to directly contribute to the success of our charity. |
What we accept |
We currently have 23 formerly homeless people living at Emmaus Salford and are always in need of shower gels and deodorant for our companions in addition to supporting our companions we also run a social supermarket which supports 200 local households in food poverty we are always in need of baby products and general toiletries as we are constantly being asked for these items. In addition to the above we are also part of the ABEN scheme which offers emergency overnight accommodation to street homeless people they are placed in a POD overnight which is equipped with shampoo, shower gel, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste deodorant and towels.
